Tokyo Treat Subscription Box: September 2019 (Fresh n’ Tasty)

September Tokyo Treat box! I was so excited with the Gudetama Custard Chocolates (you can check my opinion about it below) and the Pocky Choco Mint flavor for this month!

They are still in to fruits, though. Good thing that October’s coming and that would be the time to own up with the word “treat” on their box.

Tokyo Treat recently announced about replacing the share packs into a number of single treats to make room for more snacks that you can try outside of Japan. Also for this month’s box, a mystery item is included — might be a new snack or one that has been included on their previous boxes. I got the share pack chips that I honestly do not like that much before, until this box, but having a Japanese Mayo dip with it makes it good. Included in this box, too, is the Melon pan snack that I had tried with another subscription box a few months ago.

Also, I noticed all the items are facing the back of the box when I opened it that I have to turn each item over for the unboxing snippets and photos. (I’m just nitpicking—but it’s the first time that it happened to me; after six months.)

Overview of September 2019 Tokyo Treat Box

Some items had melted (actually, all items that has tendency of melting) and they’re not in a great shape when I opened it; probably with the handling here in Doha, as the temperature is still quite high, but it had never happened before. Especially for the Pocky as it was supposed to be consumed by sticks: the mint melted and sticked to each other and formed a block of Choco Mint flavored Pocky (Sandwich? Wafer?) that when you try to pull them apart, it will snap into crumbs, which is quite disappointing because I am expecting to enjoy its flavor, stick by stick! The Gudetama chocolates has all been deformed and I’m still looking for a few good ones to take a photo of.

TOKYO TREAT Subscription Box: JUNE 2019 (Hanami Picnic)

Into my 4th box, I’ve discovered that I’m pretty much still looking forward to each content of this subscription box. I have also decided to subscribe to Japan Crate: another candy subscription box for this month. Why? Just to weigh my options (– and more sugar intake.)

This box is filled with pink stuff! Of course, there’s a theme for it: Hanami Picnic — Cherry Blossoms! I wanted to go back to Japan just to experience this season by preparing a bento box whilst sitting and appreciating the beauty of the blooming Sakura.

Here’s a quick overview for this month’s box:

SNACK REVIEW

  • (Beverage) Lipton Sakura Tea Flavour
This is a beverage I appreciate as it is a break from all the sugary beverages that comes in monthly. Also, you can enjoy it at a minimum 12 times and not in one sitting.
